What is innovation? There are a lot of definitions and a lot of opinions about this container concept. But one aspect is certain; innovation makes all the previous obsolete. It can be a combination of existing elements that creates new value. The so-called incremental innovation. But we also know the radical or even disruptive innovations that can create new value or even new markets. At the rehabilitation Center of Adelante we pioneered with existing elements to create a incremental process- and product innovation. Adelante now has a Sports Medial Center (SMC) that creates extra value for patients, external clients and of course for the Rehabilitation center itself. How did we do it? We used a software development method called "SCRUM" to implement a new product/service (SMC) within a rehabilitation center.
Scrum is a framework for project management that emphasizes teamwork, accountability and iterative progress toward a well-defined goal. The framework begins with a simple premise: Start with what can be seen or known
Using SCRUM as method for implementation was pretty innovative. But the most innovative aspect was the new optimum combination of existing work processes and supporting underlying systems within Adelante that now are the fundament of the SMC. From notification and planning new clients until consulting and registration treatment and progress. All created by a self-organising SCRUM-team of 8 people working together in the same room 2 hours a week for 8 months. We produced a incremental product & process innovation. The best part? It was fun while doing it!
The main drive of Mullens Sports & Health Innovations is creating and validating value for Sports & Health Innovations. Whether we are talking about product or process innovation in (top)Sport or Health. We deliver! Curious if we can be of value for your innovation?
